WASHINGTON – Bellisio Foods Inc. of Jackson, Ohio, launched a recall of 285,264 lbs. of Boston Market brand boneless pork rib frozen entrée products on concerns the pork may be adulterated with foreign matter, the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the US Dept. of Agriculture reported.

Consumer complaints to the company uncovered the problem, FSIS said. Consumers reported “possible glass or hard plastic pieces” in the frozen entrees. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injuries due to consumption of the products.


The Boston Market Boneless Pork Rib Shaped Patty with BBQ Sauce and Mashed Potatoes frozen entrees items were produced on various dates between Sept. 09, 2015, and Dec. 14, 2015. Affected products include 14-oz. boxed packages containing “Boston Market Home Style Meals Boneless Pork Rib Shaped Patty with BBQ Sauce and Mashed Potatoes” with Use By dates 09/09/2016; 09/22/2016; 10/08/2016; 10/30/2016; and 12/14/2016.

The products bear establishment number “EST. 18297” on the end panel of the package. FSIS said the products were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
