OTTAWA, Ontario – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recently canceled the operation license of a Quebec meat processor after the company closed its doors.

Les Fumets Sylvestre Inc., based in Ste. Marguerite-de-Dorchester, ceased activities. CFIA reported that the agency no longer has access to the processing facilities and has been unable to contact the operator since June 25.

The company’s website states the owner and founder of Les Fumets Sylvestre is Guy Poulin. The company started out providing smoked fish, and then later expanded into other proteins. The company specialized in ready-to-eat game, poultry, fish and seafood.
