Bastille Kitchen features Superior Farms lamb chops topped with lamb bacon.
Chef Adam Kube of Bastille Kitchen in Boston, Mass. now features a duo of Superior Farms’ lamb chops with lamb bacon.

DIXON, Calif. – Bacon is no longer the domain of pork. Schmacon brings beef bacon to the table, and now Superior Farms has introduced lamb bacon.

Cured and hardwood smoked, Superior Farms’ lamb bacon is sold in slabs that can sliced or diced for foodservice applications. The product is made from lamb breast and is Halal Certified. Lamb bacon also contains fewer calories and less fat than pork bacon, the company said.

“Just about everything is better with bacon,” said Anders Hemphill, vice president marketing for Superior Farms. “Whether we are talking brunch and burgers, or appetizers and tapas, or soups and lamb bacon will boost the flavor profile of menu offerings wherever it is featured. The possibilities are endless.”

Superior Farms’ lamb bacon already is collecting accolades. The company’s bacon was named one of the “Best New Products” at the International Foodservice Show in New York and at the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo in Los Angeles.
