WASHINGTON – Washington Beef, LLC issued a recall of 1,620 lbs. of boneless beef trim that may be contaminated withE. coli O157:H7, the Food Safety and Inspection Service reported.


Product subject to the recall includes 60 lb. bulk packs of “TRIM 65/35 (FZN)” bearing the establishment number “EST. 235” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The product was produced on Nov. 28. There have been no reports of illnesses in connection with the beef trim product.

The Toppenish, Wash. processor discovered the problem during an internal records audit. Washington Beef notified FSIS about the problem. The beef trim was shipped for further processing to a single grinding facility, then later distributed for use in hotels, restaurants and institutions in Oregon and Washington State.
