SANTO, Texas – Kennedy’s Sausage Company plant, which was damaged in a fire last March, is back in business. The plant's distribution center, which was destroyed in the March fire, is 90 percent repaired, said co-owner Jason Beyer, and operational capacity is currently at 50 percent.
The plant should be fully operational by the end of the month, Beyer reported to Mineral Wells Index.com. All of the plant's employees are back working locally – some had been relocated to Dallas-area distribution plants while the repairs were underway.

The March 25 fire destroyed more than 30,000 sq. ft. of the distribution center, and part of the business office sustained minor damage. The cause of the fire caused by the electrical system.

Distribution operations were temporarily moved to the Dallas area during cleanup and restoration, but other business operations were maintained at the Santo facility. Owned by Texas Best Protein, the second-generation family owned business relocated in 2011 from Weatherford to a former livestock sale barn property that it renovated.
