REMUS, Mich. – Firefighters were called to High Lean Pork Farm after an explosion sparked a major fire at the business, according tolocal news reports.

One employee was hospitalized with first-degree burns, according to reports. The man is expected to make a full recovery. At least 300 pigs died in the blaze. Fire crews from more than four stations battled the blaze, reportedly saving two of three livestock barns.


The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
