MISSOULA, Mont. – A Montana truck stop was the last stop for a truckload of frozen chicken, according to an Associated Press report.

A former employee of Dixie River Freight Inc. abandoned $80,000 worth of frozen chicken near the Flying J Truck Stop after the company refused to pay him more money, according to the report. Law enforcement authorities are searching for Christopher Hall, who is facing a possible theft charge.

Authorities said Hall texted the trucking company requesting more money, but the company refused to pay him until he delivered the chicken. Hall apparently abandoned the truckload of chicken near the truck stop. The truck's refrigeration unit kept running until the fuel ran out.

AP reports the truck was found Sept. 23. The cleanup didn't begin until Sept. 25. Temperatures were forecast to reach 90°F for a second-consecutive day.
