AURORA, Ill. – OSI Group, LLC has formed a partnership with a UK beef processor to enhance the supply chain of locally-produced beef processed at OSI's European facilities.

Pickstock Telford, Ltd. opened a new beef processing plant in Telford, Shropshire in early 2014. The Pickstock family runs the plant, which is considered to be one of the largest, most modern and energy efficient plants in the United Kingdom, according to OSI. OSI believes Pickstock is a good match with the OSI Foodworks European division, which has production sites in eight countries in mainland Europe.

“Pickstock Telford is an impressive plant that is well managed and well invested,” said Mark Richardson, senior vice president, Global Supply Chain, OSI. “It fits in with the OSI value of a global company with a family feel to it. The venture will also add value for our customers, giving a greater depth of supply chain integration and product security, along with a sustainable and locally-sourced solution.”

Greg Pickstock, managing director for Pickstock Telford, noted that the partnership with OSI will provide growth opportunities for Pickstock.

“OSI is a respected company with a solid reputation and has an established presence throughout the beef sector,” Pickstock said. “Working with OSI Foodworks will optimize the potential for our products worldwide. This is a good thing for us, and most importantly, for the farmers that supply us.”
