NEW CASTLE, Ind. – Boar's Head Provisions Co. is planning to build a new meat processing plant in central Indiana, according to a Courier Timesreport. The project will include an initial investment of $80 million and could create 200 new jobs within a few years.


Boar's Head, a Sarasota, Fla.-based processor of premium deli meats and cheeses, is buying 64.7 acres in an industrial park in New Castle, Ind., which is about 40 miles east of Indianapolis. The company ranked No. 40 inMeat&Poultry’s2014 Top 100 report, with estimated sales of $813 million.
