WASHINGTON – Turkey eggs in incubators on July 1 climbed 2 percent from the comparable year-ago period, the US Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) reported.

Turkey eggs in incubators on July 1 totaled 28.4 million. Eggs in incubators declined 2 percent from the June 1 total of 28.9 million eggs, NASS reported.


Poults hatched during June totaled 23.5 million, a 10 percent gain compared to June 2013, according to NASS. Poults hatched declined 3 percent from the May total of 24.2 million poults.

Net poults placed during June totaled 23.2 million during June, up 9 percent compared to a year ago. Net placements were down slightly compared to the May total of 23.3 million, NASS reported.
