OTTAWA, Ontario – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) suspended the license of a Saskatchewan beef processor on food-safety concerns.

Northern Natural Processing LP, Neudorf, Saskatchewan, cannot resume operations until the company implements corrective measures required to ensure the safety of meat products produced at the plant, CFIA said in a statement.

"The CFIA has determined adequate controls for food safety were not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis," the agency noted.

ATimes Colonistreport states the company owns mid-sized beef slaughter and packing plants in Wolseley and Neudorf.
