GREEN BAY, Wis. – A definitive agreement to form a new company --King’s Command Foods LLC –has been reached and will feature the combined cooking operations of King’s Command Foods Inc., Kent, Washington, and American Prepared Foods, a division of American Foods Group LLC, of Green Bay, Wis. Terms of the deal were not made public and the transaction is expected to close in early August.

The new company will be based in Kent, Washington and will operate production facilities in Kent, Versailles, Ohio and Oklahoma City, Okla. It will become part of American Foods Group companies and offer a wide variety of fully cooked and ready-to-cook protein products servicing distributors, foodservice and retailers nationwide. The new company will be headed by Ron Baer, current president of King’s Command Foods Inc.


Harvey Baer began King’s Command Foods in the early 1950s and it has since evolved into a pre-cooked and oven-ready proteins industry leader.

“Ron Baer and his family have continued to build their father’s company into the industry leader it is today,” said Tom Rosen, American Foods Group, LLC CEO. “This merger continues American Foods Group vertical integration into protein processing.

Privately held American Foods Group LLC has nationwide operations, including supplying fresh beef to US and international markets plus fully cooked protein products from its Oklahoma facility. Meanwhile, King’s Command Food, Inc., is a privately-held manufacturer of portion-controlled, pre-cooked and ready-to-cook meat products to foodservice and retail segments
