Bellisio Foods Inc., Jackson, Ohio, recalled 12,180 lbs. of Thai Kitchen Chicken Pad Thai frozen entrée products because soy-protein isolate, a known allergen, was not declared on the product label. The company discovered the problem during a label review, according to FSIS. All the sub-ingredients were not listed on the packaging labels. There have been no reports of adverse reactions associated with the products.
The entrées were produced on April 8 and April 25. The product bears the establishment number “P-18297” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The product was distributed to retail stores nationwide. Product subject to the recall includes 10-oz. packages, 8 per case of “Thai Kitchen Chicken Pad Thai frozen entrée with “SELL BY SEP 30 15” date and case code “xxxx09841078” or with “SELL BY OCT 17 15” date and case code “xxxx11541078”.
A Dearborn, Mich. company recalled a small amount of slab bacon because hydrolyzed soy protein was not declared on the product label. Dearborn Sausage Co. recalled approximately 3,660 lbs. of slab bacon. An FSIS inspector discovered the problem during a routine food-safety assessment. The mislabeling occurred because of misprinted labels.
The slab bacon was produced on March 11, April 4 and May 2, FSIS reported. The product was distributed to a single retail store where it was sold as both slab bacon and sliced bacon. Sliced bacon will not bear the original packaging information, FSIS noted.
Product subject to the recall includes cases of “Randy’s Slab Bacon” with package codes “114070, 114094, and 114122”.
