BRASHER CENTER, NY – The owner of a family-run slaughterhouse and meat-processing plant said harsh regulatory demands and "harassment" from federal meat inspectors led them to suspend USDA certification at the plant, according tolocal news reports.

Tom and Jeff Liberty, owners of Tri-Town Packing, claim USDA inspectors are retaliating against them for suggesting the inspectors needed more training after certifying a diseased cow.

The plant will still accept livestock for individual processing. Tri-Town Packing has served as a processor for local farmers for 37 years.
