GREELEY, Colo. – A worker at the JBS beef processing plant in Greeley died after becoming trapped in a conveyor, according to local news reports.

“JBS is saddened to report the death of Ralph Horner, age 54, on Tuesday, June 10, due to an incident at the beef plant in Greeley, Colo.,” JBS said in a statement. “The company is cooperating with local law enforcement officials and OSHA to determine the exact cause of death.


“JBS is working to meet the family’s immediate needs and has made grief counselors available to provide support and assistance to the family and to our fellow team members. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Horner family during this difficult time.”

Horner of Wellington, Colo., was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:13 a.m., according to the Weld County Coroner. Officials from the coroner's office, law enforcement and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident.
