OTTAWA, Ontario – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced recalls of meat products for using "unsuitable ingredients", however the agency did not name the ingredients.

Products subject to the recall include bologna, various sausage products, pepperoni, salami and franks produced by Harvest Meats Co. Ltd., under the Harvest brand. The products were distributed to hotels, restaurants, institutions and retail outlets in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan, according to the CFIA recall notice.


Northern Natural Processing also recalled meat products due to unsuitable ingredients. Affected products included whole muscle ribeye and boneless trim 85/15 combo, according to a separate recall notice. The products were distributed to warehouses in Ontario and Saskatchewan.
