HARVEY, ND – The North Dakota Branded Beef & Pack processing facility is up for auction. In a statement, Maas Companies, Rochester, Minn., said the plant closed due to challenging economic conditions during the start-up phase.

Maas Companies plans to liquidate the 18,006-sq.-ft. beef processing plant on June 4. The facility, which sits on 8.52 acres in Harvey, ND, was designed to process up to 10,000 head of cattle per year. Maas Companies will sell the facility as one lot separately from the meat rail system, which can remain onsite or be relocated.

The Bismarck Tribunenoted that the plant closed and re-opened multiple times. Built in 2000, it started as a halal processing facility and later re-opened as Central Dakota Beef & Sheyenne Valley. The final owner was North Dakota Branded Beef & Pack.
