WASHINGTON – Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez plans to re-establish the Whistleblower Protection Advisory Committee (WPAC). The charter will remain in effect for two years.

The committee's mission is to advise and make recommendations on ways to improve the fairness, efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) whistleblower protection activities.

The WPAC also will provide advice on improving investigative and enforcement processes, training for OSHA investigators, improving regulations governing OSHA investigations and cooperation with other federal agencies responsible for areas covered by OSHA-enforced whistleblower protections.
