WASHINGTON – The Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration fined the Salem Packing Co. $462,000 in civil penalties.

Josephine E. Bonaccurso Inc., doing business as Salem Packing, and Samuel Bonaccurso, Salem, NJ, were cited by GIPSA for failing to make timely payments for livestock and failing to pay the full amount of the purchase price for their livestock before the close of business the next day.


An administrative law judge issued the ruling on Nov. 25, 2013. GIPSA adopted the order as final on April 30.
