CHICAGO – Protesters returned to McDonald's Corp. headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill., ahead of the company's annual meeting and after police arrested more than 100 demonstrators the previous day. Protesters are calling for a wage increase of $15 per hour and the right to form a union.

On May 21, protesters marched on McDonald's corporate headquarters. Estimates on the number of demonstrators varied from 600 to 1,500. The local police department said the arrests were made for criminal trespassing. News reports state that a group of 101 McDonald's employees and more than 30 clergy and union activists were arrested for crossing a police barricade. Those arrested could face fines.

The annual meeting was closed to the media, but it was webcast over the Internet.
