OTTAWA, Ontario – Groupe Colabor Inc. announced a recall of its Viandes Lauzon brand of lean ground veal on concerns the product may be contaminated withE. coliO157:H7, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) reported.


CFIA said the product was sold to hotels, restaurants, institutions, and daycare and healthcare facilities in Quebec. No illnesses have been reported. The agency said Groupe Colabor initiated the recall, and CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation that may lead to the recall of other products.

Products affected by the recall are Viandes Lauzon lean ground veal sold in 2 x 2.5 kg packages, dated 30/04/14. The UPC is #35180.
