WASHINGTON – Purina Animal Nutrition LLC voluntarily initiated a limited recall of certain poultry feeds on concerns the products contain lower-than-expected vitamin and trace mineral levels, the Food and Drug Administration reported. The feed was manufactured at a plant in Portland, Ore.

The company discovered the problem during an investigation of an ingredient inventory discrepancy. There have been no customer complaints. Retailers have been instructed to remove the recalled product from their stores and notify customers who purchased the product. Purina is advising customers to discontinue feeding the product immediately and return remaining bags to their retailer. The products were distributed to retailers in Oregon and Washington.
