MECHELEN, Belgium – MANE, a leading fragrance and flavors company, acquired Cargill's texturizing compounds business in Rubi, Spain. Details of the transaction were not disclosed, but a plant is included in the sale.

Cargill's former compounds business specialized in a wide variety of functional ingredient blends. It holds a leading position in technology compounds designed for the meat processing industry in Spain and other large meat markets in Europe, according to Cargill.

Cargill said the sale will allow the texturizing solutions business to focus on its core business; for MANE, the acquisition is complementary to its current operations and strengthens the company's position in compounds for the meat processing industry.

MANE operates MEAT PRO, which provides customized function and aromatic solutions for the meat industry throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The new company will operate under the umbrella of MANE IBERICA.
