OTTAWA, Ontario – A Canadian firm voluntarily recalled various sandwich products on concerns the sandwiches may be contaminated withSalmonella, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency reported. There have been no illnesses reported in connection with the products.

Calgary, Alberta-based Lucerne Foods triggered the recall of its roast beef, Meat Lover's and roast beef and cheddar sandwiches. CFIA confirmed the agency is conducting a food safety investigation that could lead to the recall of other products, the agency noted. The sandwiches were sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The products may also have been sold in other provinces.

Lucerne Foods is a private label and co-packer for retailers, food service companies, distributors and national brands, according to the company's website. The company operates more than 30 US and Canadian manufacturing plants.
