WASHINGTON – Advances in technology have greatly improved the safety of meat, poultry and egg products and the Food safety and Inspection Service wants the public to know more about these new food safety interventions.

So, FSIS has created a summary of technologies the agency has received and reviewed. Its
"Technology Information Table"is a listing of companies and brief descriptions of the food safety technologies in use at FSIS regulated facilities. FSIS said the agency will update the listing on a monthly basis and new technologies published will remain on the site for 12 months.

The listing also indicates which technologies that received a waiver from FSIS regulations when the use of the intervention would not be possible without a change to the agency's regulations.
