JEROME COUNTY, Idaho – Dale T. Smith & Sons Meat Packing Co. is in the process of moving its beef-processing operations from Draper, Utah to Jerome County, Idaho, according to MagicValley.com.

The company currently is in the permitting process with plans to open a $7.5 million 25,000 sq. ft. facility by spring 2015. The move to Idaho would create 100 jobs during the first year of operation, and an additional 100 positions during the second year, according to the report.

Dale T. Smith & Sons has been in operation for more than 50 years, according to the company's website. The company produces an array of boneless beef products and ethnic bulk products, such as beef cheeks, hearts and tripe.
