WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Hy-Vee, Inc. announced plans to add several new stores over the next several years in the Twin Cities market. The company currently has 17 grocery stores in Minnesota with approximately 5,100 employees.

Each store would be approximately 90,000 sq. ft. and would require an investment of approximately $14 billion to $16 billion, creating anywhere from 400-550 new jobs. Hy-Vee currently has one location under contract in the Twin Cities area, with several more projects in various stages of research and development, the company said.

Hy-Vee is a leading grocery retailer with 235 stores in eight states. The company recorded sales of $8 billion for 2013.
