WASHINGTON – ConAgra Foods, Milton, Pa., announced a recall of approximately 54,673 lbs. of Healthy Choice brand chicken noodle soup products because the soup contains undeclared allergens, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reported.

Consumers reported the problem to ConAgra after finding chicken noodle soup in mislabeled bowls, the agency said. The soup is made with wheat and egg which are known allergens. The ingredients were not declared on the product label, and the soup was distributed with a “Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice” soup label, which does not declare the allergens, FSIS noted. There have been no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the soup products.

Products subject to the recall are labeled:

• 14-oz. microwave bowls of “Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice” soup bearing the establishment number “P-770” inside the USDA Mark of Inspection and the Best By date of “JUN092015” stamped on the bottom of the bowl.

ConAgra produced the soup on Dec. 16, 2013, according to FSIS. The products were shipped to retail stores nationwide and distributed to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

“The company will work with retail customers to ensure that the recalled products are removed from store shelves,” ConAgra said in a statement on its website. “Consumers who purchased this product and who are allergic to egg and wheat containing products or who may have gluten sensitivity, intolerance or Celiac disease should not consume it and should contact ConAgra Foods at 800-289-6014 for product replacement.”
