OTTAWA, Ontario – Caesar salad products are being recalled from the marketplace by Safeway and Buy-Low Foods due to possible Listeria contamination. This recall was triggered by the companies. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food-safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

The following products are subject to recall and have been sold in Alberta and British Columbia (Buy-Low Foods and Nesters Market) and in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan (Safeway and St. Martin's Family Foods):

• Signature Café Chicken Caesar Salad, 140g, UPC 0 58200 13145 1 and best-before dates up to and including MR01.
• Signature Café Chicken Caesar Salad, 300 g, UPC 0 58200 13119 2 and best-before dates up to and including MR01.
• Fresh 'n Delicious Caesar Salad, 100 g, UPC starts with 2 06430 and best-before dates up to and including Feb. 28/14.
• Fresh 'n Delicious Caesar Salad, 205 g, UPS starts with 2 06419 and best-before dates up to and including Feb. 28/14.
• Fresh 'n Delicious Chicken Caesar Salad, 280 g, UPC starts with 2 06422 and best-before dates up to and including Feb. 28/14.
• Nester's Own Caesar Salad, 100 g, UPC starts with 2 06430 and best-before dates up to and including Feb. 28/14.
• Nester's Own Caesar Salad, 205 g, UPC starts with 2 06419 and best-before dates up to and including Feb. 28/14.
• Nester's Own Chicken Caesar Salad, 280 g, UPC starts with 2 06422 and best-before dates up to and including Feb. 28/14.

Consumers possessing any of these recalled products are instructed to throw them out or return them to the store where they were purchased.
