An undercover video taken by Radio-Canada revealed some retailers changed labels on meat and poultry packages to deceive consumers about the freshness of the products. The video prompted Quebec Agriculture Minister Pierre Paradis to order a review of federal and provincial regulations.
No incidents of foodborne illness or adverse reactions have been reported in association with consumption of repackaged meat, the Gazette reported.
