The Georgia Poultry Laboratory Network site in 2013.

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Researchers and staff at the Georgia Poultry Laboratory Network's (GPLN) main offices have waited five years to move into a new site. The wait is drawing to an end.

The 38,000-sq.-ft. building in North Hall County is complete after time spent searching for an appropriate site for the new lab and rain delays that suspended work on the site for a month. The lab provides poultry health monitoring, veterinary diagnostics and other services to Georgia's commercial poultry industry.

A key feature of the building is the mezzanine where visitors can tour the lab without entering sensitive areas. Most of the equipment at the facility is new, including robots in the serology lab.
