WICHITA, Kan. – Ruth Kimmelshue was named president of Cargill Meat Solutions effective Jan. 16. She succeeds Jody Horner, who is leaving the company to become president of Midland Univ.

Kimmelshue joined Cargill in 1986 through the Continental Grain acquisition after working for Continental for 13 years. She served as president of Cargill Salt and Cargill AgHorizons. She will remain president of Cargill Turkey and Cooked Meats, a post she has held since 2013.

Kimmelshue has a BA in International Relations and an MA in Agricultural Economics from Stanford Univ. She was raised on an almond and bean farm in Northern California.

Horner is leaving Cargill after 30 years with the company. She became president of Cargill Meat Solutions in 2008.
