Quincy, Fla. – Fason's Smoked Sausage has been a fixture in Gadsden County since 1969. But a recent fire has left the company's future in limbo.

A massive fire broke out at the company's sausage plant on Oct. 18. Tommy Fason, owner of the company, said the fire started in the smoke house. He was working in the building at the time of the blaze, but managed to escape. Between 3,000 and 4,000 lbs. of meat products were destroyed in the fire.

Fason said he is unsure if he will rebuild the building or continue having the products made by someone else. Fason's sausage products are sold nationwide to retailers such as Publix, Harvey's, Winn Dixie and Piggly Wiggly.
