GREEN BAY – Firefighters from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department took 20 minutes to control a fire that started in a uniform and storage area at American Foods Group/Green Bay Dressed Beef, according to local news reports.

Fire crews were called to the plant after 11 p.m. on Oct. 12. The fire started in a storage room where uniforms and processing equipment were kept. The second floor of the facility also sustained damage, and smoke affected three floors of the plant, according to the fire department.


Firefighters remained at the scene for three hours to extinguish hot spots and investigate the blaze. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $20,000.
