CHICAGO – Burnt flavors, bubbly beverages and bold spices are in the forecast for top restaurant menu trends in 2016, according to Technomic.

The research and consulting firm compiled its annual list of predictions using data from more than 7,000 menus in the United States and original research on suppliers, operators and consumers.

Other transformational concepts set to shake up the foodservice landscape next year include the emergence of the QSR-plus restaurant segment and the proliferation of delivery platforms.
