January liquid egg products advance 1% from 2011

WASHINGTON — The total amount of edible liquid product from shell eggs broken in January was 221,386,000 lbs, up 1 percent from both December 2011 and January 2011, the US Department of Agriculture said in its latest Egg Products report.
January production of edible liquid whole eggs was 133,284,000 lbs, down 5 percent from December and down 3% from January 2011; liquid whites were 58,001,000 lbs, up 12 percent from December and up 6 percent from January 2011; liquid yolks were 30,101,000 lbs, up 14 percent from December and up 9% from January 2011.
Shell eggs broken in January were 169,992,000 dozen, up 1 percent from December but down slightly from 170,042,000 dozen in January 2011.
