WASHINGTON — The second meeting of the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee is scheduled for Jan. 13-14.

In the coming weeks, a Federal Register notice will announce the meeting and provide further details. The committee first met June 13-14. A second meeting originally was scheduled for Oct. 3-4, but it was postponed because of the government shutdown.

The committee’s recommendations and rationale will serve as a basis for the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015, which is a joint effort between the US Department of Health and Human Services and the US Department of Agriculture.
