FSIS posts advance copy of STEC notice

WASHINGTON – The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued an advance copy of the notice, "Shiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli in Certain Raw Beef Products” (Docket no. FSIS-2010-0023)."

The agency submitted the notice to the Office of the Federal Register. The official notice will be published in the May 31 Federal Register.

This notice contains responses to comments on the Final Determination notice, which is the planned implementation for testing raw beef manufacturing trimmings. The notice also announces the finalization of the Risk Profile for Pathogenic Non-O157 Shiga Toxin-Producing Escherichia coli (non-O157 STEC).
