F.S.I.S. updates meat, poultry products directive

The American Meat Institute relays the Food Safety and Inspection Service has updates to Attachment 1 for F.S.I.S. Directive 7120.1.
Attachment 1 identifies the food-grade substances that have been approved in 21 Code of Federal Regulations for use in meat and poultry products as food additives, approved in generally recognized as safe notices and pre-market notifications, and approved in letters conveying acceptability determinations.

F.S.I.S. will continue to issue updates to the list, as needed. This transmittal will be cancelled when contents have been incorporated into F.S.I.S. Directive 7120.1.
