Fuddruckers debuts in South America

SANTIAGO, Chile – Fuddruckers debuted its first South American site in Santiago, Chile, on Dec. 10 with Chilean franchisee, SRTC. The partnership calls for the construction of an additional nine Fuddruckers restaurants throughout Chile and South America over the next several years.

"We are excited to continue the global growth of the Fuddruckers brand through partnerships with homegrown operators like SRTC, who have established themselves as leaders in the field,” said Peter Tropoli, chief operating officer of parent company, Luby's,Inc. “We also look forward to introducing South America to the 'World's Greatest Hamburgers,' including regional specialties like the Avocado Cheese Burger and Cheese Arugula Burger."

SRTC's family of franchise restaurants and creative brands is focused on the growing demand for high quality, American-style bar and grill establishments that deliver distinctive experiences and tastes to Chileans. The company, which secured the first international Ruby Tuesday's franchise in 1999, currently owns and operates six brands with 20 restaurants and 700 employees, serving more than one-million guests per year.

Fuddruckers burgers feature always refrigerated and never frozen,100 percent USDA Premium-cut beef with no fillers or additives. Its menu also offers a variety of sandwiches, platters and salads.
Luby's Inc. operates restaurants under the brands Luby's Cafeteria, Fuddruckers and Cheeseburger in Paradise and provides foodservice management through its Luby's Culinary Services division. The company-operates 94 Luby's Cafeterias, 74 Fuddruckers restaurants, eight Cheeseburger in Paradise full-service restaurants and bars and one Bob Luby's Seafood Grill. Its 94 Luby's Cafeterias are located primarily in Texas.
