OTTAWA, Ontario – Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd. voluntarily recalled Formaggio brand Artisan Wraps Italian Style Meats around Fresh Mozzarella because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency reported. No illnesses have been reported.

The recalled product comes in 675 g packages with BEST BEFORE codes for products sold between Feb. 13, 2013 to March 11, 2013 inclusive. The UPC is 7-08531-29431-7.

Eating food with Listeria on it can cause listeriosis, which can lead to miscarriage in pregnant women, brain infection, blood poisoning and death. Listeriosis can be treated with antibiotics, but early diagnosis is important.
