VAUGHAN, Ontario – Yum! Restaurants Canada announced it is opening new KFC franchise opportunities in Newfoundland as part of the company’s growth in Atlantic Canada.

Eighty KFC franchises operate in the Atlantic provinces, and more than half of those restaurants (in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland) will be renovated and upgraded over the next two years. This marks the first time in 20 years that KFC has opened up new franchise opportunities in Newfoundland.

"KFC restaurants in Newfoundland are performing very well and our updated franchise models represent an attractive business opportunity for the brand," said Sabir Sami, president of Yum! Canada. “Currently, we're scouting for new locations in the entire province and we hope the local business community and KFC fans will help show us where we should build our next KFC in Newfoundland."
