Maple Leaf Foods declares dividend

TORONTO – Maple Leaf Foods Inc. has declared a dividend of $0.04 per share will be payable on Sept. 30 to the shareholders of record at the close of business on Sept. 9. The total aggregate dividend of $0.04 per share will paid as two separate dividends on Sept. 30.

The company has designated the second dividend of $0.015 per share to be an eligible dividend, while the first dividend of $0.025 is not eligible for purposes of the Enhanced Dividend Tax Credit System. Dividends of $0.04 per share paid by the company in each of the first and second quarters of 2011 were not designated as eligible dividends for purposes of the Enhanced Dividend Tax Credit System.
