Omni Custom Meats recalls 191,695 lbs. of roasted chicken quarters

The marinated chicken products were misbranded and contained undeclared allergens.
WASHINGTON – The US Dept. of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Nov. 22 that Bowling Green, Kentucky-based Omni Custom Meats Inc. has recalled approximately 191,695 lbs. of marinated roasted chicken quarters due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The chicken contains soy that was not identified on the product label.


FSIS personnel discovered the problem on Nov. 21 during a routine label inspection.

The following products are subject to recall:

5,477 cases of 35-lb. heat sealed bags containing 52 pieces of “Roasted Chicken Quarters – Sea Salt, Cane Juice, Chicken Broth Powder, Canola Powder, Spices.”

The marinated roasted chicken quarters were produced from Jan. 12 through Nov. 15 and bear establishment number P-2199 inside the USDA mark of inspection. The chicken quarters were shipped to distributors in Georgia and Missouri.

To date, there have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
