Canadian firm recalls Kirkland product

OTTAWA, Ontario – Freshouse Foods Ltd., a wholesale business in Ontario, recalled Kirkland Signature brand Grilled Chicken Breast Strips on concerns the product may be contaminated with Listeria, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency reported.

CFIA said results from tests conducted by the agency revealed the problem. A food-safety investigation is underway, the agency said, and additional products may be recalled. No illnesses have been reported.

The recalled product bears the UPC 0 96619 70787 4 and "Best Before" date of APR13-APR26, inclusive, the agency said. The chicken breast strips were sold in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, but may also have been sold in other provinces.
