Buona Vita recalls RTE meat, poultry products

WASHINGTON – Buona Vita, Inc., Bridgeton, NJ, is recalling more than 72,000 lbs. of various frozen ready-to-eat meat and poultry products on concerns about Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The affected products were a variety of meatballs made with chicken and beef. FSIS said the problem was uncovered during microbiological testing by a third party. No illnesses have been reported. All the products were made on June 26, according to FSIS and sold to distribution facilities nationwide.
Buona Vita recalled 324,770 lbs. of frozen, ready-to-eat meatballs on July 9. No illnesses were reported in connection with the recalled products.
