Johnsonville adds chicken sausage to product line

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. – Johnsonville has introduced a new sausage variety – Applewood Smoked Chicken Apple Split Sausage – to its line of meat products.
The naturally smoked chicken sausage features real pieces of apple and has about half the fat and calories of a pork sausage. The product is also the first chicken sausage in Johnsonville's smoked sausage line.
"Our new Applewood Smoked Chicken Split Sausage was made to help operators introduce better-for-you foodservice options with the help of a new and exciting flavor," said Sarah Babb, Johnsonville's director of foodservice marketing. “Johnsonville makes it easy to indulge your customers' growing appetite for smoked flavors and on-trend culinary ingredients but also keep up with consumers' desire for healthier options."
The chicken sausage is also gluten free and MSG free.
The Johnsonville's Smoked Sausage collection also features select Johnsonville smoked sausages, like the Bourbon BBQ, Polish Kielbasa, Smokey Cheddar and Hot Link.
