WASHINGTON – Pinnacle Foods Inc. issued a recall of more than 32,000 lbs. of ready-to-eat beef products on April 28, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The shelf-stable, heat-treated, dried and sliced products are suspected of being contaminated with staphylococcal enterotoxin and clostridial toxin caused by a possible processing deviation.

The following products, produced on Jan. 2, 2018, and April 9, 2018, are subject to the recall are labeled with establishment number “EST. 2AD” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail customers nationwide and include:

  • 2.25-oz. glass jars containing “ARMOUR GROUND & FORMED SLICED Dried Beef” with best by dates of Jan. 7, 2021, Jan. 8, 2021, Jan. 9, 2021, Jan. 10, 2021, Jan. 11, 2021, April 15, 2021, April 16, 2021, April 17, 2021, April 18, 2021 and April 19, 2021. The product lot codes are: 0707011Y11, 0708011Y11, 0709011Y11, 0710011Y11, 0711011Y11, 0715041Y11, 0716041Y11, 0717041Y11, 0718041Y11 and 0719041Y11.
  • 4.5-oz. glass jars containing “ARMOUR GROUND & FORMED SLICED Dried Beef” with best by dates of Jan. 23, 2021, Jan. 24, 2021 Jan. 25, 2021 and April 22, 2021 with lot codes: 0723011Y11, 0724011Y11, 0725011Y11 and 0722041YW1.

No illnesses related to the consumption of the products have been reported. The deviation was discovered by an Enforcement Investigator and Analysis Officer on April 27, 2018.
