Wendy's opens 500th international restaurant

DUBLIN, Ohio – The Wendy's Co. opened its 500th international location in Guatemala City, Guatemala, in December. The company announced the grand opening of the location on Jan. 9. The restaurant is owned by franchise organization Alimentos Corporativos Coralsa, which currently operates 13 restaurants in Guatemala. 

"In the past year we've grown our international portfolio by more than 60 net new restaurants," said Todd Penegor, president and CEO of The Wendy's Co. "This is a great achievement that we attribute to the strength of our brand and partnerships with exceptional and dedicated franchisees who are committed to developing Wendy's abroad."

In addition to the Guatemala City location, Wendy’s opened additional international locations in Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia.
