McDonald's could not keep up with demand and shut down the product in late November.
OAK BROOK, III. — After removing Buttermilk Crispy Tenders for about a month, McDonald’s Corp. announced the popular product was available again as of Dec. 28.
McDonald’s introduced Buttermilk Crispy Tenders to its menu on Sept. 27. The tenders are made with 100 percent white meat chicken that is battered, lightly seasoned and breaded.
"The #ButtermilkCrispyTenders that you love so much have returned!" McDonald's tweeted.
In late November, McDonald’s acknowledged that its supply could not keep up with the significant demand for the chicken product.
“Because demand far surpassed our expectations, we will soon take a brief break from serving them at our restaurants,” McDonald’s said in a statement.
The tenders are served alongside any of McDonald’s nine dipping sauces — Creamy Ranch, Honey, Honey Mustard, Hot Mustard, Spicy Buffalo, Sriracha Mac Sauce, Sweet ‘n Sour, Tangy Barbeque and the new Signature Sauce.
McDonald’s has been working at rebranding its chicken strips after trying to bring back the Chicken Selects for a limited time in 2015. The Chicken Selects launched in 2002 but were eventually removed from the regular menu in 2013.
